| Modern and Medieval Languages (MML) Test is a written test, conducted by the University of Cambridge during the interviews for admissions in the degree courses of language at undergraduate level. The University of Cambridge developed this test, after an extensive reliability and validity research, to ensure that MML test is fair and fit for the students. |

| Application Procedure |

| Applicants are required to submit applications to the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) at www.ucas.ac.uk/apply for consideration. |

| Structure of the Exam |
|
| The MML test is a 45 minutes test in which applicants are given an unseen passage in English (300-350 words) to answer two-three questions about it. They are required to write in a language for which they have applied to study at Cambridge and are reading at A-level (A2) or equivalent. The applicants are also offered the scope to express their own ideas and thus, given an opportunity to prove their aptitude and skills in foreign language. |

| The aim of the MML test is to assess applicants’ competence in foreign language with respect to the usage of grammar and vocabulary, though they are not required to know the exact foreign language terms for each English terms used in the passage. |

| Students have a wide range of languages to choose from, for their degree courses at undergraduate level, such as Dutch, German, Italian, Russian, French, Modern Greek, Portuguese, and Spanish. |

| Besides state-of-the-art infrastructure at Cambridge, students will gain proficiency in two languages simultaneously, out of which they can learn one language from scratch.
