| It is overwhelming to see institutions like the University of Oxford taking keen interest in teaching History as a subject. Considering its glory and to give the subject its due respect, University of Oxford has recently introduced a test called HAT or History Aptitude Test, to be used for the admission process. Anybody who aspires to study History, Ancient and Modern History, History and Economics, History and Modern Languages, and History and Politics at Oxford University needs to take HAT. |

| ABOUT HAT |

| History Admission Test is a two - hour test, which tests the skills of a candidate and not essentially the historical knowledge. HAT comprises of two reading comprehensions to test the interpretation and analytical mettle of the candidate. One of the extracts is a history work, meant to test the ability of a candidate to apply the ideas they comprehend while the other is an unseen passage that assesses the candidates’ interpretation skills. |

| Candidates, who are applying through their schools, should send a special test declaration form apart from the Oxford application form. Candidates pursuing full – time education will be able to take test in their school or institution. |
